Founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken, Colonel Sanders, traveled over 250,000 miles a year visiting various parts of his Chicken Empire.

You may have heard of Madcap travelers who travel to far off places. They don’t care about the extremities of the area; in fact, extreme areas seem to attract them even all the more. Colonel Sanders, the founder of famous food chain, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), travels copiously to various parts of his Chicken Empire.

Colonel Harland Sanders, born on September 9, 1890, actively began franchising his chicken business at the age of 65; because of a new interstate highway which was planned to bypass the town of Corbin, where Sanders served his meals. Seeing an end to his business, the Colonel auctioned off his operations. After paying his bills, he was reduced to living on his $105 Social Security checks. He then travelled by car throughout the country offering his recipe to different restaurants, entering into agreements whoever showed a positive response towards him. Within 12 years of dedicated hard work, Sanders had more than 600 outlets of his business. He later sold his business for two million dollars. According to a survey conducted in 1976, Sanders was the second most recognizable celebrity in the world. The efforts and hard work Sanders dedicated into the Kentucky Fried Chicken brand still persist with a very relevant slogan “Finger Lickin’ Good.”
